Chapter 9: Blazing Flight
"What's everyone standing around for? You should all be practicing!"
Dark was the evening as the horizon sucked the light away. Leanne sat quietly in her room. It was nothing special. Her wardrobe door was hanging off its hinges, the wood splintering. No more than three gowns were folded neatly in a stack on the base of it. A disheveled rug lay torn and mangled at her feet. Dust coated everything at least a couple centimeters thick. With little interest she watched some insects flying carefree through the flower garden between hers and the neighboring house. With a sigh she drew her attention away and crossed the room to a rugged writing des

Chapter 8: Making the Cut
"Because, I am an Aleyran."
Autumn had given way to the first snow showers of the setting year. Bitter was the cold that blew over the hills, passing through the city streets. The market had become nearly lifeless as crowds dispersed for the first time since the arrival of those of Revington to the warm safety of their homes. Merchants still advertised their wares beneath snow laden canopies that shielded them from the falling snow. They had blocked the wind with wooden barricades to either side of their store fronts. The few passers paid them no mind, eager to get out of the harsh weather that had taken root.
The smell of burning timber f

Chapter 7: A Chance to Relax
"You sure are curious, aren't you Lady Leingstai?"
Leanne dropped down below a tree, not dissimilar from the one she preferred in Revington. The air was growing colder by the day as winter was taking hold. Over her shoulders she wore a cloak to block out the bitter winds to no avail. A month had passed since her arrival in the capital, Fidon. Needless to say, her stay was not a joyous one thus far.
She had been contracted into the apprenticeship of one of the mages that served the kingdom. Grueling work and outrageous hours gave no time to sit idly by and take a moment to relax. Despite being strict, her teacher, Syl Ximond, was not complet

Chapter 6: Safeguard
"I thought magic was universal, if you knew one affinity you knew it all."
The capital was once a spectacular place. It's marble stone walls stood on high, with sunlight blazing the surface to create a marvel to look upon to a passerby. Now grime and vines coated the walls, wind erosion had taken it's toll but still the walls towered resiliently. It found it's foundation on a hill where two rivers converge.
History acknowledges the prophetic telling of the traveler Isanhart, who led the third son of Poalc to be blessed by the stars atop the very same hill. The two rivers in the tale resembled the crossroads of the land and the stars, so to

"His wound. Is this... ice?"
The night had been long. A cool wind kept ripping its way through the hills causing the tents to flutter. It was eerily silent, but all to the better. It meant no one was there, and they'd hear it if there was. The group awoke early to the complaints of the magistrate. He'd been making a fuss about reaching the capital for well over an hour before anyone was wrestled from their sleep to tell him to simmer down.
"We are all exhausted, can't you just wait for an hour?" Phillip was saying. "The women need their rest!"
"Enough excuses! His majesty must been informed of everything immediately!" Ertwin shouted.
"W

"By the King's Dwaphmir! Who goes there?"
Moonlight rained down onto the vast plains stretched before them. It was at least a two day journey to Fidon, the capital city, from Revington on foot. They'd been walking for about three notches according to one of the maids in the group. Stopping to rest had been suggested repeatedly but it was emphasized that resting would invite the enemy to catch up to them.
"Shouldn't we be setting up camp for Sir Aleyran to catch up?" Leanne asked concernedly.
"He'll reach the capital when he can. If we wait for him then all his work of keeping those rebels away will have been for naught. If Lowen catches

Chapter 3: Into the Night
"Just wait until you see the Sky Riders, the capitol is chock full of them."
Around town people were bustling about their business as though nothing had happened. Their unwillingness to accept change made them ignorant to just about anything that occurred out of the ordinary day's work. Despite this there was a tension in the air, so much that it felt as though one was being strangled by the neck. Talk was scarce in places that had never known silence. The world was being overturned and even ignorant people would not ignore it, even if they consciously tried.
The rebel arms were stationed hitherto about the town, places like exits to stops

Chapter 2: Preparations
"Dear child, what is it that has you looking so sad?"
"It's futile, give in already!" scoffed the commander, leaning up against the wall opposite where Chase stood guard. Battered and bloodied, Chase braced himself against the door frame. He barely had any stamina to keep his footing. The dark soldiers never ceased their onslaught and it was starting to wear heavily on him. In all, only a couple of foes lay strewn about the marble tiles, stained red with blood.
"I can't give up!" Chase retaliated, forcing himself off the wall to counter more blows. Behind him Leanne sat frightened on the floor, watching helplessly. Come now... Help him, us
So after my long absence I, the wonderful RoseSmith have returned from purgatory all in one piece. I don't have anything new to upload as of yet but perhaps I will eventually. I'll have you know that we, Prussians, are very much an endangered species and so my survival is of the utmost importance, I think... perhaps... Well anyway, good day to you deviants.
After however many months I've finally succeeded in procuring a new computer to replace the one that broke some 8 or so months ago. Hopefully I can get started with my work now that school is coming to a close too. Good to be back and all.
I've done some brain storming lately and I decided that I'm really not pleased with how my latest novel is turning out so I'm going to discontinue it for the time being. I'm actually thinking of a different fantasy novel at this point in time. I'll let you know.
Mister-Ed-Fan here is a friend of mine from the Blazblue forum. He's a spectacular story-writer. Maybe you two could share story ideas or talk or something.
